What happens to a correction
A correction is not an edit request that gets weighed against our own text. It is a prompt to go back to the venue’s own source and look again.
- We check the venue’s own source, not yours. Whatever you tell us, the change is made only if the operator’s own website, menu or booking page supports it. That applies equally when the message comes from the venue itself.
- We fix the page and re-date it. The verification date on the page moves to the day we re-checked, so you can see the detail is fresh rather than assuming it.
- We record it publicly. Material corrections are added to the corrections log, with what was published and what the source actually says.
- If the source says nothing, the page says nothing. Where an operator publishes no price or no hours, we will not fill the gap on request — not even at the venue’s own asking. We will publish that the venue does not state it.
For venues and their representatives
If you run one of the venues covered here, updated menus, price lists and opening hours are genuinely welcome — send them and we will verify and publish. Two things we do not do: remove an accurate detail because it is unflattering, and publish a figure that does not appear on your own public pages. If a price has changed, change it on your site and tell us; that is the version readers will find anyway.
Requests to be added to the site are read. Coverage is not for sale, and paying for a booking link or a placement does not change any verified fact on the page — see the advertising and affiliate disclosure.
Response times
This is a small independent publication, not a newsroom with a duty desk. Corrections that would send a reader to a closed venue or make them pay the wrong amount are treated as urgent. Everything else is handled in the ordinary course. If you have not heard back and the detail still looks wrong, write again — a second message is more useful to us than a wrong page staying up.
