What things cost, and who publishes it

Most of the questions people bring to Dubai are price questions, and most of them have a published answer somewhere that is hard to find and easy to get wrong. These four sections collect every figure we have verified, grouped by the decision you are actually making — and the rules section collects what is published as law rather than as a price.

Browse by area

Most Dubai trips are planned by neighbourhood, not by category. Dubai is also not one place with one price level — a day in Old Dubai can cost less than a single ticket in Downtown, and the metro is genuinely useful in two districts and irrelevant in three. Every district, with its own price ladder, or start from the clusters below.

Why the dates matter

Dubai prices and opening hours move constantly — seasonally, around Ramadan, and whenever a venue changes its concept. A page that does not say when it was last checked is telling you nothing about whether it is still true. Every page here carries that date and links to the source it was checked against.

There is a harder version of the same problem, and it is the reason this site exists in the form it does. Dubai’s authorities and operators leave obsolete documents online, indexed and unlabelled, beside the current ones. A metro fare table stamped 2011 still prints fares roughly half today’s. A golf rate card that expired in 2016 still ranks. A museum’s own page prints a ticket price a third of what the ticket costs. A page updated last month hands you a controlled-medicines list from 2022. We keep a running catalogue of them, with what is actually current in each case.

The four rules

The full rules are in our editorial policy. When we get something wrong it goes in the public corrections log with the date and what we got wrong — and if you find one, tell us.

Who writes this

Every page here is researched, written and reviewed by Dan-Ionuț Ciobanu, who is named on it. There is no anonymous byline and no rotating pool of writers. If a figure on this site is wrong, there is one person to hold to it.

This page carries no figures of its own. The 103 venue pages this site links to were each last checked against the operator’s own source on , and every card shows its own date or links to the page that doesReviewed by Dan-Ionuț CiobanuSpotted something out of date? Tell us.
