Dubai boat tours: who publishes a price, and who has vanished
Across five categories of Dubai boat trip, three sources publish a first-party price: The Yellow Boats, Xclusive Yachts and the RTA for its own ferries. Everything else is resale. We could not identify a single Dubai Creek dhow operator that owns boats and publishes prices on its own site. Rustar, the best-known Creek dhow, has no first-party website at all. Bateaux Dubai’s domain now redirects to a health-coaching business. And not one page in the entire sample states whether its price includes VAT.

Xclusive is the only Dubai charter operator we found publishing an hourly rate card by class: from AED 350 an hour for a 28–40 ft sport boat, AED 1,400 for a 48–65 ft yacht, AED 2,000 for 70–92 ft and AED 5,000 for a superyacht. The stated minimum is three hours, but the operator explicitly makes that negotiable: “quicker charters are available please contact one of our charter executives”. Captain, crew, soft drinks, ice and water are included; food, towels, cutlery and BBQ use are not unless catering is contracted.
The dhow cruise category has no visible operator layer
Every domain that ranks for a Dubai Creek or Marina dhow cruise is a thin booking site. They advertise headline figures — “From AED 39”, “in 40 AED Only”, “50% Off” — and several of them sell the same named boats as each other, which is the signature of resale rather than operation. We publish none of those figures, because we cannot establish that any of those sites owns a vessel, and a reseller’s price is not what the operator charges.
Two cases make the point concretely:
- Rustar, the large Creek dhow well known enough to have its own encyclopedia entry, has no first-party website at all. Every result for it is a reseller. A physically real, sizeable operator with no published price of its own.
- Bateaux Dubai, the best-known glass-boat Creek dinner cruise, has let its
domain lapse.
bateauxdubai.comnow returns a redirect to an unrelated health-coaching business. Anyone citing that domain as a source today is citing something else entirely.
The one Marina dinner cruise that presents as an operator, Celeste, publishes a detailed description of the meal — welcome Arabic gahwa and dates, a buffet, unlimited soft drinks, a 90-minute cruise boarding at Dubai Harbour at 20:30 — and no price anywhere. Its own offers page is headed “Limited Period Offers”, carries no AED figure and no validity date, and routes the reader to seven third-party platforms. A page that says “Book Direct & Save” gives you nothing to compare the saving against.
RTA’s marine fares, and where RTA contradicts itself
RTA is the one operator here publishing a dated document: its marine flyer is stamped July 2026. Alongside it, RTA still serves an undated ferry brochure with a completely different fare structure and different routes.

A third RTA document, its Dubai Connector guide, states ferry “Fares range from AED 15 to AED 70” — but RTA’s own current top ferry fare is AED 75, so the range is wrong against RTA’s own newer document. The same guide gives abra charter as “AED 120 to AED 300 per hour” where the July flyer gives “AED 300 or AED 580 per hour”. Nobody states whether the price includes VAT
We checked every readable page in this category for the words “plus VAT”, “excluding VAT” or “inclusive of VAT”. Not one contains any of them — not RTA, not The Yellow Boats, not Xclusive, not Celeste. Under the federal rule an advertised price should already include VAT, but silence is not a statement, and in a category where the same trip is sold at four different prices by four different sites, silence is worth naming.
An offer season that ended four months ago
Xclusive’s offers page is headed “Offers & Discounts – September 2025 to May 2026”. That season ended roughly four months before this page was written, and the page is still live and still presenting the offers as current — a UAE resident code, fixed packages from AED 2,000 for a two-hour BBQ charter up to AED 80,000 for an overnight superyacht. The individual offers carry no expiry wording of their own, so the section heading is the only validity signal there is, and it has lapsed.
The same operator also still serves a 2023 article stating a floor rate of “400 aed/hour”, which its own current rate card contradicts at AED 350. Two dead links round it off: RTA’s own ferry service page returns its 404, and Celeste’s standard-package page, linked from Celeste’s own site, returns 404. This is the pattern we catalogue.
