The museum publishes its opening hours two different ways on its own site, and one of them will put you at a closed gallery. It is closed on Mondays, and the galleries shut long before the building does.
“Open to midnight” is not the museum
The museum’s Plan your visit page says: “Louvre Abu Dhabi is open from 10am to midnight. Galleries and exhibitions close at 6:30pm weekdays and 8:30pm weekends. Closed on Monday.” Its FAQ separates the same information differently:

Read together they are consistent: the dome and restaurants stay open to midnight, the art does not. Read separately — and the Plan your visit page is the one a visitor lands on — “open from 10am to midnight” is the sentence that sticks. Arriving at 9pm on a Tuesday after the drive from Dubai gets you a dome and a restaurant.
The practical rule: treat 6:30pm as closing time Tuesday to Thursday and 8:30pm Friday to Sunday, and never go on a Monday.
Admission is not published; two tour prices are
We could find no general admission figure on the museum’s readable pages — as with the Yas Island parks, whose ticket pages carry no figure either — though those parks do publish theirs on their FAQ pages, and Louvre Abu Dhabi does not. Two figures are published, both for tours and both on top of admission rather than instead of it:
- Express tours, AED 50. “45-minute Join an Express Tours are available at 12:00pm and 4pm, cost AED 50.”
- Private group tours, AED 600. Published as a flat figure, with no group size attached that we could find.
The museum states that a general admission ticket is required in addition to the tour cost, so neither figure is a total.
Bags, food and photography
- Bags. “Bags and backpacks, other than small ladies’ handbags, are not allowed in the galleries.” If you have driven from Dubai with a day bag, plan on a locker.
- Food and drink. “All foods and liquids are not permitted inside any galleries.” That includes water.
- Photography. “Commercial filming and photography, including the use of drones, in and around Louvre Abu Dhabi is strictly prohibited” without written authorisation. Personal photography is not addressed in the same sentence, and we have not assumed a rule for it. Dubai’s own photography rules are stricter than most visitors expect and worth reading before you travel.
