Dubai waterpark tickets: what moves the price
Four things change what you pay, and the advertised figure hides all of them. Wild Wadi charges UAE residents AED 149 and everyone else AED 199 for the same day. AquaFun’s AED 225 is quoted before VAT, so it is AED 236.25. Legoland charges AED 35 more at the gate than online. And Aquaventure publishes no day-pass price at all, stating only that gate prices “vary depending on the season” — though it does price its annual passes.

AquaFun’s AED 159 is its summer single-session rate, running 15 June to 15 September. Outside that window its published day pass is AED 225, also before VAT. Wild Wadi’s two figures are stated as “from”, and it does not publish the under-1.1 m child figure on the same page as the adult one.
The resident discount is the biggest single variable
Wild Wadi prices the identical day two ways and asks for Emirates ID at the gate. The gap is AED 50 a head — AED 200 for a family of four, which is more than a fifth waterpark ticket. Buying the visitor pass when you hold a residency is simply overpaying, and no listing page flags it because both prices are on the operator’s own site under two separate buttons. On Mondays the resident rate drops again, to from AED 129 with a VISA card.
Height, not age
This catches people out more than any other rule. Wild Wadi splits adult from child at 1.1 metres of height, not at a birthday. A small seven-year-old pays the child rate; a tall five-year-old pays the adult one. Legoland does the opposite and uses age — under three free, on ID. If you are budgeting for children, measure them before you assume which side of the line they fall on.

The VAT arithmetic is ours, applied to the operator’s own published rate at the 5% it states, and it is the only computed figure in the table. Almost no Dubai operator says whether its price includes VAT — across the fifteen indoor venues we checked for this, two stated a position. AquaFun is the one here that says its rate is pre-VAT, which is exactly why a pre-VAT figure sitting in a list of prices that are silent on the point is misleading rather than merely unusual.
Aquaventure prices its passes but not its gate
Aquaventure is the awkward one. Its waterpark page states that “Prices of tickets bought at the Aquaventure Ticketing Plaza vary depending on the season”, so there is no gate price to quote and, on the operator’s own wording, there could not be a single one. Its readable pages carry no day-pass figure either — the rates live inside its booking application rather than on a page.
Its passes, on the other hand, are priced. The annual pass runs AED 995 Bronze, 1,195 Silver and 1,495 Gold for an adult, and 695, 895 and 1,195 for a child; a 90-day season pass is AED 450. Bronze buys a year of waterpark access and nothing else. Silver adds the aquarium and a set of 20% discounts. Gold adds a towel each visit, two dolphin experiences and valet parking.
Note where those figures live: the season pass’s own marketing page publishes no price at all — the AED 450 exists only inside the booking engine. So even the products Aquaventure does price are priced somewhere a reader has to go looking.

The break-even column is our arithmetic against the AED 149 resident day rate, not a figure Wild Wadi publishes, and it ignores the food and retail discounts the higher tiers add — 10% to 25% depending on the tier — which shorten the payback for anyone who eats in the park. A private cabana is published separately, from AED 3,000 for the day.
What is closed
Legoland Water Park is temporarily closed along with the Legoland theme park; its operator states the hotel remains open and publishes no reopening date. Its prices are listed above because they are what the operator still shows, not because you can buy them today. Every venue we publish as not fully open is on the closures page.
