Dubai child tickets: the age band matters more than the price
8 Dubai attractions publish a child ticket price, and almost no two of them agree on what a child is — only Boo Boo Laand and the Museum of Illusions share a band, both 3–15. The upper limit runs from 8 to 17 years old. A ten-year-old pays the child rate at 5 of them and the full adult rate at 2 — at the same age, on the same day, in the same city.

Both figures are the venue’s own standard published rates, and the saving column is our subtraction rather than a number any venue prints. Where the adult column reads “Not published”, the venue either states no standard adult admission or prices adults on a different basis entirely — Boo Boo Laand, for instance, sells a child’s pass and charges accompanying adults an entry fee on top, so its two figures are not two versions of the same ticket and are not presented as though they were.
Where the line falls, and why it catches people out
The lower bound is nearly as inconsistent as the upper one: child pricing starts at 2 at some venues and 4 at others, and below that children are usually free — but the free age is its own number again. Burj Khalifa admits under-threes free and does not sell older children an independent ticket at all. Legoland uses under-three free on ID. Both Jumeirah beach hotels let under-fours in free.
The practical consequence is that a family cannot carry one assumption across a trip. On a week’s itinerary with four ticketed attractions, a nine- or ten-year-old will be a child at some gates and an adult at others, and the difference is real money: the largest single gap in the table above is AED 70.
Family tickets, where they exist
A few venues publish a family rate instead of, or alongside, the child rate, and these are the only ones that do:
- Museum of Illusions — AED 250 for two adults and two children, and AED 370 for five tickets. Against its own AED 90 adult and AED 65 child, the family ticket saves AED 60 on the same four people.
- Museum of Candy — AED 90 per person for bookings of four or more, against AED 119 adult and AED 99 child.
- ARTE MUSEUM — AED 79 per person for three tickets or more, which is the same as its child rate.
- Madame Tussauds — a “Kids Go Free” family package from AED 375.
- Palm Monorail suspended for maintenance as this page is verified — AED 99 for a return trip for four people, Gateway to Atlantis.
The family-ticket arithmetic in the first two lines is ours, on the venues’ own figures. Everywhere else on this site, a family of four pays two adult and two child tickets.

At five of the attractions here, yes. At two, they pay the full adult rate — at the same age, on the same day, in the same city.
Do Dubai attractions band by age or by height?
Both, and they do not tell you which without reading. Wild Wadi splits adult from child at 1.1 metres of height, not a birthday; several indoor venues do the same. Measure the child before you budget.
Do young children get in free in Dubai?
Usually under 3, and sometimes under 5, but each operator sets its own line and several publish no free category at all. Where an operator states one, it is in the table.
Which Dubai attraction has the best child discount?
The largest published gaps are where the child rate is roughly half the adult one. Note the opposite case too: where a “child” ticket costs more than an adult one, the two are different products, not a discount.
