Dubai indoor activities: what each venue actually publishes
For four months a year Dubai is an indoor city, and the venues that fill those months price themselves inconsistently. Two of fifteen venues state whether VAT is included. One publishes a UAE resident rate — and it is AED 4 below its own public price. Not one venue that requires you to buy grip socks publishes what the socks cost. Two venues band by height rather than age. And one well-ranked official site has been frozen mid-January for several years.

The compulsory extras nobody prices
Three venues require you to buy or hire something before you can take part, and only one of them tells you what it costs.
- Bounce requires grip socks — “everyone bouncing needs to wear our special grip socks” — and publishes no price for them anywhere on its site.
- Adventure Parx states “Closed shoes and non-slip socks are mandatory” and, likewise, no price.
- Dubai Autodrome charges an AED 15 annual membership fee for new registrations and renewals. It is the only compulsory extra in the whole category with a number attached, and it sits below the headline rate where it is easy to miss.
Ski Dubai is the counter-example: “All passes include outfit and equipment rental”, which for a snow venue is the difference between a AED 240 ticket and a AED 240 ticket plus a jacket, boots and gloves.
VAT and resident rates: almost nobody states either
Two venues of fifteen publish a VAT position. Ski Dubai: “All prices are inclusive of 5% VAT”. The Green Planet: “VAT included (5%)”. Everyone else, including every Emaar Entertainment property, is silent. Under the federal display rule an advertised price should already include VAT, but silence is not a statement.
One venue publishes a UAE resident rate, and it is worth reading twice. iFLY advertises “AED 175 instead of AED 220” for residents — while its own packages page prices the same tier at AED 179, struck through from AED 299. Two different “normal” prices for the same product on the same site, and a resident discount worth AED 4. Ski Dubai’s resident-rate pages return server errors. Adventure Parx names Fazaa, Esaad and Emirates Platinum discounts without stating the amount of any of them.
Height, not age — again
Two of the family venues here band entirely by height. Adventure Parx splits at 80 cm and 150 cm with no age mentioned at all. Bounce splits at 110 cm for its main zones and 140 cm for miniBOUNCE access. Dubai Ice Rink uses 100 cm and 120 cm. This is the same trap we describe on the child ticket prices page and at the waterparks: measure the child before you budget, because a birthday will not tell you which side of the line they fall on.
Two venues sell adult and child tickets without ever defining child: Dubai Aquarium’s annual pass is AED 500 adult and AED 400 child with no age band. The Green Planet manages to publish two different child bands on one page — “Juniors (2-10 yrs)” on the day pass and “Juniors (10 yrs and below)” in the offer block beside it.
Three venues we are not going to price
- Hub Zero — its official site is live, well ranked and frozen. It publishes hours captioned “until 21 Jan” with no year, a news notice promising an attraction “coming in January” from an operator that ceased trading years ago, and the pre-2022 Sunday-to-Thursday working week. No prices, no address, no age limits render anywhere. The City Walk venue is not trading under this brand.
- Dubai Bowling Centre — no venue-controlled website could be found at all. Every price in circulation comes from an aggregator, so we carry none.
- Laserzone — no Dubai venue of that name publishes anything. The Dubai laser tag operators that do publish are different brands, plus the Laserdrome at Dubai Autodrome at AED 70 for a 15-minute session.
Elsewhere the stale flags are smaller but the same: Ski Dubai still serves an expired National Day offer page and shows one pass with a price of “0”; Play DXB publishes weekend hours ending at “1pm”, almost certainly a typo for 1am, which we quote as published rather than silently correcting; and Bounce currently displays a summer offer, an after-school offer, a holiday special and a December giveaway simultaneously, all at AED 150, in September.
