What closes for the summer in Dubai, and exactly when

Dubai’s outdoor attractions do not share a season. Each operator sets its own dates and publishes them in its own words, so “closed for summer” covers anything from a three-month window to an eight-month one. Hatta Wadi Hub runs 1 October to 5 May. Global Village Season 31 is “Oct 2026 – May 2027” and has no exact dates yet. Dubai Crocodile Park closed 15 June and is due back 14 September 2026. And Miracle Garden contradicts itself on two of its own pages.

Miracle Garden contradicts itself, and both pages are its own

This is the clearest example of the problem. The operator’s FAQ says the garden “operates seasonally, typically from late September or October through April or May” and that it “closes during summer”. Its visitor-information page says the season is “open year-round”.

Both statements are published by the same operator on the same website. We are not going to pick the one that suits a cleaner table. If you are planning a visit between June and September, the practical answer is to phone +971 50 735 2833 before you go, and to treat any third-party page that states the season confidently as having chosen one of these two at random.

“Seasonal” and “closed” are different things

Four Dubai attractions on this site are closed right now for reasons that have nothing to do with the season, and they will not reopen on a calendar date:

Every one of these is on the closures page, which is the list we re-read most often — because being right about a closure and then slow about the reopening is still being wrong. That has already happened to us once, and it is in the corrections log.

What is open through the summer

The heat closes outdoor attractions, not the city. Indoor and water-based venues run year round: the malls (hours here, and no two use the same week), the observation decks, the aquarium and the ski slope, the waterparks, and every restaurant on this site. The metro runs its normal timetable. The abra is outdoors and runs anyway, at AED 1.

The reverse is also worth planning for: the things that are only on in winter are also the things that are busiest in winter. Global Village, Miracle Garden and Hatta all reopen inside the same six-week window in autumn.

What changes in the next eight weeks

Three dated events sit close to this page’s verification date, and we hold them on our own recheck schedule:

None of these has been confirmed by us as having happened; they are the dates the operators publish in advance. We check each on or after the date and correct the site publicly if the operator does something else.

Common questions

What closes in Dubai in summer?

Outdoor attractions, on their own separate calendars. Hatta Wadi Hub runs 1 October to 5 May. Global Village is between seasons until October. Dubai Crocodile Park closed 15 June and is due back 14 September 2026.

Is Dubai Miracle Garden open in summer?

Its operator contradicts itself. The FAQ says it “operates seasonally… and closes during summer”; its visitor-information page says “open year-round”. Both are on the same website. Phone before travelling.

When does Global Village open?

Season 31 is published only as “Oct 2026 – May 2027”. No exact opening date and no gate ticket price have been published.

What is open in Dubai during summer?

The heat closes outdoor attractions, not the city. Malls, observation decks, the aquarium, the ski slope, the waterparks, every restaurant and the metro all run year round.

Is a seasonal closure the same as a temporary closure?

No, and listings conflate them. Four attractions here are closed for reasons unrelated to the season and will not reopen on a calendar date — including both Legoland parks and the Museum of the Future.
