What closes for the summer in Dubai, and exactly when
Dubai’s outdoor attractions do not share a season. Each operator sets its own dates and publishes them in its own words, so “closed for summer” covers anything from a three-month window to an eight-month one. Hatta’s banner says Season 9 opens 28 September, while its own FAQ still says 1 October to 5 May. Dubai Miracle Garden opened its season on 8 October 2026. Dubai Safari Park reopened on 12 October 2026 at 9:00am. Global Village Season 31 is “14 Oct 2026 – May 2027”, with an opening day but no closing day. Dubai Crocodile Park has reopened after its 15 June – 14 September 2026 closure.

Miracle Garden: the contradiction has been resolved by the operator
When we checked on 3 September 2026, the operator’s FAQ said the garden “operates seasonally, typically from late September or October through April or May” and “closes during summer”, while a visitor-information page on the same site said “open year-round”. On 29 September 2026 that page carried Butterfly Garden information instead, and the homepage announced “Opens 8 October 2026” above a notice that the garden is “closed for seasonal renovation and will reopen October – May”. On 8 October 2026 the renovation notice was gone, the “Opens 8 October 2026” banner remained, and the booking calendar ran from October 2026 to April 2027. The garden opened on that date; by 10 October 2026 the homepage had replaced the banner with “Seasonal opening—check schedule before travelling”.
So the garden is open for the 2026–27 season. The Butterfly Garden next door is a separate ticket and is listed as open year-round. If you are planning around the reopening, the operator’s number is +971 50 735 2833.
“Seasonal” and “closed” are different things
Several Dubai attractions on this site are not fully open for reasons that have nothing to do with the season:
- Museum of the Future — temporarily closed “while it prepares its next chapter”; the shop and event spaces remain open. No date.
- The Palm Monorail — suspended for maintenance. The island is open; the monorail is not.
- Ras Al Khor — the Mangrove Hide is closed, the other hides are open. A partial closure that a “closed/open” listing gets wrong in both directions.
- Skydive Dubai — the gyrocopter experience is temporarily closed. The Desert Campus is open again (Wednesday to Sunday, 07:00–14:00, per the operator’s contact page in October 2026), as is the Palm Dropzone.
Every one of these is on the closures page, which is the list we re-read most often — because being right about a closure and then slow about the reopening is still being wrong. That has already happened to us once, and it is in the corrections log.
What is open through the summer
The heat closes outdoor attractions, not the city. Indoor and water-based venues run year round: the malls (hours here, and no two use the same week), the observation decks, the aquarium and the ski slope, the waterparks, and every restaurant on this site. The metro runs its normal timetable. The abra is outdoors and runs anyway, at AED 1.
The reverse is also worth planning for: the things that are only on in winter are also the things that are busiest in winter. Global Village, Miracle Garden, Dubai Safari Park and Hatta all reopen inside the same six-week window in autumn.
What changes in the next eight weeks
Seven dated events sit close to this page’s verification date, and we hold them on our own recheck schedule:
- 14 September 2026 — Dubai Crocodile Park’s published reopening. Its closure notice had gone from its ticket page when we rechecked on 29 September.
- 15 September 2026 — the end of AquaFun’s summer session rate, after which its published day pass returns to the higher figure.
- 28 September or 1 October 2026 — Hatta reopens: its banner says 28 September, its plan-your-visit page still says 1 October.
- 8 October 2026 — Dubai Miracle Garden reopens, per its own homepage.
- 12 October 2026 — Dubai Safari Park reopened at 9:00am, per its own homepage.
- 7 October 2026 — Legoland Dubai Resort reopened; its homepage reads “LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort is open!”
- 14 October 2026 — Global Village opens Season 31, per its own plan-your-visit page.
None of these has been confirmed by us as having happened; they are the dates the operators publish in advance. We check each on or after the date and correct the site publicly if the operator does something else.
