Dubai mall hours: no two malls keep the same week

Every mall here opens at 10:00, and after that they agree on nothing. Closing times run from 22:00 to midnight, and the malls do not even share a definition of the weekend: some publish their long days as Friday to Sunday, others as Thursday to Saturday, and one runs Sunday to Wednesday as its short week.

These are retail hours. Restaurants, cinemas and attractions inside the same building routinely run later, and several malls say so explicitly without publishing the later times. If you are going for dinner rather than shopping, the mall’s closing time is not your closing time.

The trap in the middle of the week

The malls above start their published week on 2 different days. That sounds like a formatting quirk and is not: it changes which day is a “long” day. Nakheel Mall treats Thursday, Friday and Saturday as its late trio and closes at 22:00 on Sunday through Wednesday. Mall of the Emirates and The Dubai Mall close late on Friday, Saturday and Sunday instead. So on a Thursday night one is open until midnight and the other shuts at 23:00, and on a Sunday the positions swap.

Souk Al Bahar publishes no single set of hours at all. It is a mall on this list that leaves opening times to its individual tenants, which is honest and unusable in equal measure.

Before you drive to one

Parking is priced separately from the mall’s hours and often changes at a different time of day. Rates and validation rules are compared here — several malls give free hours only against a spend, and one charges from the first minute at the weekend. Getting there: which malls the metro actually reaches.

Why an hour later than you think still is not enough

A mall closing at midnight does not mean its shops serve you at 23:55. Individual tenants set their own last orders and several start shutting shutters fifteen or twenty minutes early, which no mall publishes because no mall controls it. The published figure is when the building stops admitting people, not when the thing you came for stops trading.

The same gap runs the other way in the morning. Every mall on this list opens its doors at 10:00, but the anchor supermarkets, gyms and clinics inside several of them open earlier and the cinemas open later. Where a mall publishes those separately, the difference is on that mall’s own page here rather than flattened into this table.

Ramadan and public holidays change all of it

None of the malls above publishes Ramadan hours in advance, and Ramadan moves through the calendar. Historically the pattern is later opening and much later closing, announced close to the date. The same applies to Eid and to National Day. Treat every figure on this page as the ordinary week, and check the mall’s own site in any month where a public holiday falls — it is the one time of year these hours are reliably wrong.

Common questions

What time do Dubai malls open?

Every mall on this page opens at 10:00. After that they agree on nothing: closing times run from 22:00 to midnight.

What time does The Dubai Mall close?

Its published closing time differs between its short and long days, and its definition of the weekend is not the same as its neighbours'. The table gives each mall's own published week.

Do Dubai malls have the same weekend?

No, and this is the trap. Some publish their long days as Friday to Sunday, others as Thursday to Saturday, and one runs Sunday to Wednesday as its short week.

Are Dubai mall hours different during Ramadan?

Malls normally publish revised Ramadan hours closer to the time. The hours here are the standard published ones, with the date each was checked.

Do shops close before the mall does?

Individual stores and restaurants often keep their own hours, which can end earlier or run later than the mall's. Each venue page on this site carries its own.
