Dubai abra and ferry calculator

The same authority charges AED 1 to cross the creek and AED 75 to ride around a lake. The difference is not distance, it is whether RTA has classified the trip as commuting or sightseeing.

This total is our arithmetic, not a published figure. Every input above is quoted from the source named beside it; the addition is ours, and it is shown line by line so you can check it. Every fare is RTA’s own. The two traditional abra routes are cash only — a nol card will not get you on CR1 or CR2, and they are the AED 1 ones. Where a route publishes a Silver and a Gold fare we have used Silver and named Gold in the line; where a charter price covers the whole boat rather than a person, multiplying by passengers is wrong and the line says so. RTA publishes two different hourly charter rates for its own vessels on two of its own documents, so we have left charters out entirely.

The AED 1 crossing is the bargain nobody mentions

CR1 and CR2, the traditional wooden abras across Dubai Creek, are AED 1 per person and run from 06:00 to midnight — CR2 runs 24 hours. They are also cash only, which is the detail that strands people: a visitor with a nol card and no coins cannot board the cheapest boat in the city.

Cross the same water on a sightseeing product and RTA publishes AED 25 for a Marina round trip, AED 60 for a 30-minute electric abra tour and AED 75 for 25 minutes on Burj Khalifa Lake. Same authority, same emirate, seventy-five times the fare. Every published marine fare, with the routes and hours.

The other calculators

All of them work the same way: published inputs, named sources, the arithmetic shown, and the missing pieces stated.

Common questions

How much is an abra in Dubai?

RTA publishes AED 1 for the traditional wooden abras on routes CR1 and CR2 across Dubai Creek, and AED 2 per stop for the air-conditioned abras on CR3 to CR6 and CR11. Sightseeing abras are priced separately and far higher: AED 60 for a 30-minute Creek tour and AED 75 for 25 minutes on Burj Khalifa Lake.

Can I use a nol card on the abra?

Not on the cheapest ones. RTA publishes CR1 and CR2 — the AED 1 traditional wooden abras — as cash only. The air-conditioned abras on CR3 to CR6 and CR11 accept nol, as do the ferries.

How much is the Dubai Ferry?

It depends on the route and the card. RTA publishes AED 15 Silver and AED 25 Gold for FR5 to Sharjah, AED 25 and AED 35 for FR1 to Dubai Canal, and AED 50 and AED 75 for FR4 between Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis. Children under 5 travel free on FR5.

Do children pay on Dubai abras and ferries?

Where RTA publishes a rule we have carried it: under 5 travel free on ferry FR5, and under 2 on the TR8 Marina round trip. For the other routes no child rule is published, which is not the same as children travelling free.
